Luxury Home Staging Project – MAJESTY: Majestic Castle on the Hill

Majesty: The Majestic Castle on the Hill

Every woman at some point in her life has dreamed about living in a castle on the hill, prancing around her palace in the most beautiful ball gown, awaiting her Prince Charming, with an unlimited budget to decorate all the spaces to her heart’s content.

Ok… So maybe the part about decorating was just in MY dreams. HA!

Nonetheless, the HER Staging & Interiors team was THRILLED when we were offered this luxury home staging project –  a BEAUTIFUL storybook, luxury 5 bedroom, 5.5 bath 10,264 sq. ft. home on more than 2 acres.

It was a castle fit for a queen, indeed.

HER Luxury Home Staging Project

The Project: We named her MAJESTY

The HER design team prides ourselves on being an extremely talented, eclectic group of women. We’ve got old school charm and values plus a new school flavor. Keeping with our company tradition – we always name the houses we work in together… Naming the Mill Pond castle came very easy to the team.
The first thing we took into account was the style preference of the discerning buyers in the target demographic necessary to purchase the home in Mill Pond. We knew they expected to see exquisite decor tastefully blended with modern finishes. The home had gold faucets and ornate brass light fixtures which we believe further added to its elegance and class, so we knew a traditional design style would create a GORGEOUS, cohesive design for the spaces.
To that end, our design team was inspired by the majestic, yet relaxed vibe of the home; thus we named her “Majesty,” a wildly impressive home built for a queen…

Setting the Stage

Our process for staging any vacant property starts with researching the potential buyer. This process gives us insight into the decor needed to impress prospective buyers and make them feel at home in the property. As I mentioned earlier, for Majesty, we chose a traditional design style, and took it a step further weaving in French and French Country themes throughout the home.
We staged 14 rooms and more than 20 areas including all five bedrooms, 5.5 baths, kitchen, eat-in kitchen, formal living and dining room, study, laundry room and the basement.

The Main Floor

For the main living room, HER Staging & Interiors designer Ann Blake chose a neutral-colored, Chesterfield-inspired sofa and chaise lounge set flanked by an exquisite baby grand player piano. She handmade a beautiful French Country style silk floral arrangement to welcome prospective buyers in the entry.
We carried the period theme into the formal dining room and study, bringing in an elegant French provincial-style table with seating for six to fill the bright, open space.

A Room with a View: The Master Bedroom

Designing and staging Majesty’s master bedroom almost threw us for a loop… Twice.
This gorgeous master bedroom is HUGE – 28×26 sq.ft with cathedral ceilings. It features French doors leading out onto its own private patio which makes it seem to go on FOREVER.
We tried two different beds in the space before placing the perfect piece. This california-king size tufted headboard with polished silver nailhead buttons is from the HER | Staging & Interiors’ inventory purchased through our trade partners at Z-Gallerie. Luxury rug, side chair and table also from our private collection compliments of one of our favorite stores, At-Home.

We loved working in the colossal master bath suite complete with it’s own bidet in the water closet. It has these gorgeous brass faucet and lighting fixtures that became the focal point of our staging plan and allowed us to go glam. This made HER Staging & Interiors’ designer Stacey Ammerman VERY happy. Glam is her favorite design style.
Think brass is passed? Not-so-much…
Check out this article on the return of brass to the A-List and call us for tips on bringing it back into your home’s decor.
And finally in this area, we staged the dressing room / closet…
The original closet contained these odd-ball track lights circa: Macy’s dressing room, 1978.
To add elegance and catapult the room into the 21st century, we recommended adding two gold mini chandeliers in place of the tracks. They worked out majestically… Grab a napkin and be prepared to drool before you check out the photos. 🙂

Meet the Ballerina Princess

If I had a daughter (which I don’t… I have two sons), I’d want her room to look like this:

HER Staging & Interiors’ designer Torrye Kampen (she has sons too)  and worked hard to channel our inner “girlie-girl” and come up with the “ballerina, pretty-in-pink” theme for this room. With it’s own private bath connected to the bedroom by a rotunda, we loved imagining a room made for a little ballerina preparing for her first recital.

And They Lived Happily Ever After…

Every princess story has a happy ending and ours was no different. We ended our staging adventure at Majesty staging a kitchen and eat-in dining area, all the baths, laundry room, mother’s work space, boys bedroom and attached game room, guest room and a man cave in the basement.
